"Novelty within the context of discovery does not always translate to an unprecedented idea; novelty could merely be the result of translating prediction into experimental outcome that refines the original prediction without obvious epistemic change. Novelty is not always about something unknown, but rather, also about how something that is known can still reveal something unprecedented and unanticipated when contextualized to less familiar circumstances."
